The three distinct types of climate are the Mediterranean, the Alpine and the temperate types.In the Mediterranean type of climate you will find mild, wet winters and hot, dry summers. The regions which are mostly affected by this climate include the Cyclades, the Dodecanese, Crete, Eastern Peloponessus and parts of the Sterea Ellada. The mountainous areas of north western Greece experience the Alpine type of climate. The Temperate climate affects the central Macedonia and East Macedonia.
