Geography of Greece comprises of rugged mountains and picturesque coasts. Greece has a diverse landscape and is one of the prominent tourist destinations which have become increasingly popular over the years. It further moves into southwestern Aegean and finally ends at the Islands of Crete.

Pindus Mountain range a famous one among the mountain ranges in Greece is known for its steep slopes and a number of canyons. If you ever visit this place you will be mesmerized by the picturesque view of the slopes. The sight of the typical Meteora formation will provide a breathtaking experience for the numerous tourists who come to spend their extended vacation in Greece. Most of these formations are visible in central Greece. One can also see the Vikos-Aoos Gorge formation which is another popular tourist attraction. Besides one can also visit the monasteries which are situated on the top of these mountains.

The highest mountain in Greece is Mount Olympus. This mountain range was once considered as the seat of the Gods. At present it is one of the popular locations for the hikers and the mountain climbers. If you visit the northeastern fronts of Greece you will find another high altitude mountain range which stretches across East Macedonia and Thrace.
