The Archaeological Museum, Corfu Island is a very popular tourist attraction of the place. The Corfu Island is an Ionian island which is located between Italy and Greece. The Archaeological Museum in Corfu Island has preserved all the ancient finds of this island. The museum is located in the Vralia Street which is near the Garitsa coastal Road. There are plenty of items displayed in the museum among which the most renowned one is the west pediment that is of the temple of Artemis. This is the Gorgon pediment and it is the most ancient one that is found in Greece. This pediment dates back to 580 BC.

There are many other important exhibits found in the Archaeological Museum, Corfu Island. The other exhibits include three funerary monuments that are from the cemetery of the ancient town. There is a 6th century cemetery that has an archaic Corinthian inscription. The inscription found here is written from right to left. Another noteworthy thing is the stele which is dedicated to the memory of Arneadas, who was a warrior.

Inside the Archaeological Museum, Corfu Island there is a very impressive Archaic that dates back to 500 BC. The main figure consists of the wine God, named Dionysos. It is believed that the pediment was made by a Corcyraean artist. Another beautiful and magnificent exhibit found in this museum is the archaic lion. This lion was found within the vicinity of the Menecrates' tomb. It dates back to the 7th century. There are two showcases in the museum that are filled with coins. There are many other objects which go back to the 4th century BC. Most of these items include sculpture works.
