The Kapodistrias Museum in Corfu Island is housed inside a mansion that belongs to the 17th century. The mansion now has got the furniture and possessions of John Kapodistrias, who was the first president of the modern state of Greece. Koukouritsa is located within the vicinity of the Evropouli Village. The magnificent mansion has got two storey and it was made in the year 1845. The entire structure was designed by a very well known architect named Chronis.

Previously this mansion belonged to the Kapodistrias family. Till 1969 the ground floor of this building housed many offices of the Corfu Prefecture. The place underwent an extensive restoration in the year 1979 so that this huge historical edifice could be preserved beautifully for the future generations. The place remains open on Wednesdays and Saturdays in between 11.00 am and 13.00 pm. When in Corfu Island the travelers must pay a visit this museum.
