The Historical and Folkloric Museum, Corfu Island, was established by the popular Historical – Folkloric Society of the Corfu Island in the year 1982. The entire museum is housed within a traditional building that is located in the village named Sinarades, which is situated around 12 kilometers to the west of Corfu. The entire museum seems to be a reproduction of a middle-class village house that was found in the 19th century. On the ground floor of the building, where the museum is housed, the visitors will come across a large room that has got household effects and a number of tools.

The first floor of The Historical and Folkloric Museum in Corfu Island has got the sitting room, bedroom and the kitchen. All the places have got their very own furnishings and decorations. On the second floor of the museum the visitors will come across a study room that has got lot of books and a number of old documents. There is also a collection of documents that was donated to this museum. In this very floor the visitors will find a number of Corfiot holiday costumes and some musical instrument as well. The place has got some fishing equipments, some farming tools, ceramics, a work bench of a shoe smith. There is also a exclusive corner for the children and various other tools.
