Among the Tourist Attractions in Corinth, Lechaion, Corinth is worth a visit while you are touring the city of Corinth in Greece. Lechaion, Corinth is an old harbor that lies north of Ancient Corinth. The Lechaion is located 4 kilometers or 2.5 miles west of the modern town of Corinth. Lechaion in the city of Corinth is a major tourist spot in the Corinth city. The Lechaion is now completely silted up, but the outlines of the harbor basin can still be well distinguished.

In the years of 1956 to 1961, the Greek archeologists brought the Lechaion, Corinth into light and recognition. On the west-side of the Lechaion, there is the remains of the 5th Century Christian basilica, which is believed to be the largest in Greece. The Christian basilica is 220 meters long. Road of Lechaion is connecting the Corinth city with the port. On both sides of the road, there are lovely arcades with shops. During the 5th Century BC, the people of Corinth build long walls, on both sides of the road, in order to protect the port.

The Lechaion way is wonderfully paved with flagstones and lined with sidewalks, arcades and shops. Walking down this broad marble avenue, you can view the famous Temple of Aphrodite, get the cool breeze of the ocean from the Corinthian Gulf and even hear the sailors singing from the port.

On one end of the road, at Lechaion, you can find many ship sheds and the sanctuaries of Poseidon and Aphrodite. On the other end, along the Corinth, the road is lined with sidewalks, places of worship, administrative buildings, arcades and souvenir shops.
