At the heart of Chalki, Naxos is situated the the distillery of Vallindras which is well knwon for manufacturing the liquor Kitron. The distillery was establishes in the year 1896 but they have started their operations only 30 years age after they have received their official permission. The equipments in the distillery for the manufacture of the liquor is more than 130 years old. The liquor is produced purely from the citrus fruit without the adding any chemicals to it.Close to the distillery lies the workshop of German potter Katherina Bolesch. 'L'oliver”. At the shop you will get highly burnt stone ware and other art and artifacts made of olive wood, cold pressed olive oil, soap made of olive oil and some handmade candles.
