Chi Lin Nunnery, Hong Kong is a beautiful religious site which is located on the Diamond Hill, New Kowloon, Hong Kong. This nunnery is a Buddhist nunnery which houses numerous spectacular statues of religious importance.
The Hong Kong tourist attraction has been renovated and reconstructed in their original style of Tang architecture. Tourists can also visit a beautiful garden which is well maintained and developed; the garden is situated just in front of the Chi Lin Nunnery, Hong Kong.
Out of most of the nunneries Chi Lin Nunnery, Hong Kong buildings are the only buildings which have been built with wooden rooftops without. The buildings have a unique architectural and constructional style. In the construction of the building no nails were used. This is style has been taken from Tang Dynasty which uses interlocking systems for construction.
Chi Lin Nunnery, Hong Kong was built in 1934 the attraction. The site houses 16 Buddhist halls, a Zen-style lotus-pond rock garden, and a Ten Thousand Buddha’s pagoda. The attraction is spread over an area of 30,000 square meters.
When you visit Chi Lin Nunnery, Hong Kong you will certainly notice the strikingly attractive statues. The most beautiful statues are of Sakyamuni Buddha, Guanyin and other bodhisattvas. Most of the statues are made of gold, clay, wood and stone.
The entry to Chi Lin Nunnery, Hong Kong is free of cost and you can visit the religious site anytime between 7am to 7pm.
