Parish Church of St Anthony (formerly Minorite Church), Eger in Hungary is located on the southern side of the city. Built in 1771, the church is regarded as one of the most glorious baroque buildings in the world. It is the main feature of the market square and is one of the outstanding Baroque edifices in Hungary. It was built by the Bohemian architect Johann Ignaz Dientzenhofer, who was schooled in Viennese Baroque by Lukas von Hildebrandt. He drew up plans for the church, which was commenced in 1758. It was completed in 1773. The twin-towered front of the church displays the Baroque dynamism.
