Between the years 1882 to 1891, the Cathedral of St Peter went through large-scale renovation under the plans of Friedrich Schmidt, a Viennese architect. Károly Antal, Károly Lotz, György Kiss and other renowned Hungarian artists of the 19th century contributed to the interior furnishings of the church. The high-altar of Cathedral of St Peter is a replica of the original Roman piece. It remains open for visit from 15th April to 15th October.

Pecs Synagogue

Pecs Synagogue is one of the impressive structures in the city. Pecs Synagogue is to be found in the centre of the town. The Pecs Synagogue was constructed in the year 1865. During those days, about 4000 Jews used to live in the town of Pecs. Pecs Synagogue was the fourth of its kind in Pecs.
