Pecs-Pogany is the only airport in Pecs. This airport in Pecs was opened very recently, in 2006.
At present there are year round flights to Korfu in Greece from Pecs.
History of Pecs Pogany Airport
The city of Pecs saw the first ever aircraft as the air ship, shown in the Agricultural Exhibition in 1907, after World War I. It was during this time that an area, now known as the “Uranvaros”, was been kept aside by the city for its future airport. In the later part of 1920, regular flights started from the airport.
After the Second World War the transportation authority took charge of the airport in 1946 and from 1947 recreational flights started. The Russian Hungarian Civil Aviation started running scheduled flights between Budapest and Pecs, although there were restrictions due to the nearness to the Yogoslavian Border. In 1952 domestic flights started between Pecs and Szeged. The Railway Flying Club was started and the tickets were available at such attractive prices that more people got interested in the gliders and motorized flights.
The Budapest-Pecs-Kaposvar flights started in 1954, but the growing skyscrapers in the surroundings were creating hindrance to the flight operations. So the airport was relocated to a place about 10 Km away from the city center on the border of the Pogany village. The terminal buildings, hanger and refueling center and an asphalt runway, by the aid of the local city owners were also established gradually. In 2004 an instrument landing system and runway lighting were implemented and finally in the fall of 2006 the Pecs -Pogany Airport was opened and it joined the international network of flights.

Check-in timings: The check-in opens one and half hour before departure and closes 20 minutes before departure.
