The various modes of getting to Pecs are by air, rail and roadways.

By Air

The International Airport of Hungary is Ferihegy, it is about 20 Km from the city center. One can take a flight to Budapest from here or from other destinations and then can reach by availing train or through road route.

In 2006 a new Airport named Pecs – Pogany Airport was opened in Pecs. The Austrian Airlines have flights from Vienna to the Pecs Airport.

By Train

The best way to reach Pecs is by train. It will be a nice economical mode of transportation in Pecs.

It is better to take the Inter city train from Budapest which takes even less than three hours to reach Pecs. There are five trains daily.

If someone is coming from Vienna, one can take the Corvinus Intercity train.

There is also one train, that runs during night from Sarajevo and Osijek to Pecs. Anyway, if traveling by train, the timetable should be checked.

By Coaches

The Volanbusz runs the domestic coaches in Hungary. There are Daily Coaches to Pecs. They start from the Budapest Nepliget Coach Terminal and is a major mode of transportation in Pecs.

By Car

You can come to Pecs taking the road route, which is the motorway M6 and then Road no. 6. Alternatively one can also take the motorway no.7 and then turn towards south to Road 65 , get on to no. 61 and then take on to Tamasi and after Dombovor, enter the Road no. 66. A new highway is under construction at present to connect the two cities of Pecs and Budapest and to reduce the driving time, which is about three and half hours now. The journey will be very pleasant, enjoying the scenic beauty of the roadway and at the same time will provide a fascinating experience of the Pecs Tour.
