The Votive Church, Szeged is a splendid cathedral in the town of Szeged. This place adjoins the north side of the Dom tér. The plans of this church were made by Frigyes Schulek and ErnO Foerk. The design for the facade of this church was inspired from the Italian Romanesque cathedrals. This church was built in between the years 1913-30. Just above the main doorway of this church there is a 10 feet (3 meter) high statue of the Madonna. There is also the patron of this church and the protector of Hungary (Patrona Hungariae). To the right and left hand side of the statue of the Madonna, there are twelve apostles who are in the form of mosaic pictures.
