Kerala is situated in the tropical Malabar Coast of the southwestern part of India. The neighboring parts of Kerala are Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. In the southern part of Kerala is the Indian Ocean wherein are situated the islands of Lakshadweep and Maldives.
There is a myth about Kerala that Parasurama created it. It is believed that Parasurama tossed his axe that dripped with his mother’s blood. It happened in the Western Ghats Mountain in the sea. There was the question of adultery. Parasurama chopped the head of his mother due to the allegation brought by his father. Later he suffered from guilt. He threw his weapon in the sea. The sea is depicted as the Goddess that did not take the axe. The axe receded and the land of Kerala was created.
Some of the major districts are Kozhikode, Wauanad, Ernakulam, Palakkad, Kollam and many more. Kozhikhode was Malabar’s capital. It is pretty convenient to reach Kozhikode with different modes of transportation. Cochin is a cosmopolitan city in the state. It has emerged as one of the important commercial ports. It is also the financial capital of Kerala.

Willington Island is an artificial island made up of sand that was removed from the Kochi Port. St. Francis Church is a must visit site. The Portuguese established it in the year 1503.
