Fairs & Festivals: Tripura enjoys many community-specific festivals. The Ashokastami, Garia, and Gajan festivals are celebrated in April. Moreover, there are the Rabindra and Nazrul Jayanti, Boat Race festival, Kharchi, Manasa Mangal, Durga Puja, Diwali, Ras, Poush Sankranti Mela and Orange and Tourism Festival that are celebrated throughout the state with great fervor.
Music and Dance: When you are in Tripura do not miss to be a spectator of the dance forms, Hozagiri dance, Jhum, Bizu dance and the Lebang boomani amongst others. The culture of Tripura derives its enrichment from its long association with Nobel laureate, Rabindranath Tagore and musical maestros like Sachin Dev Burman and Rahul Dev Burman.
Sightseeing Attractions: Apart from the festivals of Tripura, even the sightseeing attractions of Tripura are worth visiting. These include Agartala, where you must visit the Ujjayanta Palace, State Museum, Tribal Museum, Rabindra Kanan and the Portuguese Church.
Temples: Other attractions such as Tripura Sundari Temple and Fourteen Goddess Temple are located in the outskirts of Agartala. An important sightseeing attraction of Tripura is also the Bhuvaneswari Temple, located at Udaipur. It is located amidst the ruins built by Maharaja Govinda Manikya.
Buddhist Pilgrimage centers: The state of Tripura offers a large number of attractive tourist sites including religious sites of Hindu's and Buddhists. There are many Buddhist Pilgrimage centers in the state that you can visit on your tour. The Venuvan Vihar in Agartala, is just one of them. Although this shrine is small in size, beautiful metal idols of Buddha and Bodhisatva that are preserved here are nevertheless worth watching. Another important Buddhist pilgrimage site is the Buddhist temple at Pecharthal. It was set in the year 1931. The idol was bought from Rangoon in the year 1931.
