Monkey Forest Sanctuary, Bali is a major attraction in Indonesia. About the Monkeys in the Monkey Forest Sanctuary in Bali:

The monkeys present in the forest are typical species found only in the Bali islands and are known as long-tailed macaques. The scientific names of these monkeys are called as Macaca fascicuiaris. These monkeys generally live in the forested parts of Southeast Asia and have little contact with humans. Monkey Forest Sanctuary was set up to preserve these species of monkeys in their natural surroundings. Conservation of monkeys is also important because of religious reasons. Monkeys are considered sacred in Balinese Hinduism. Hinduism in this state in the different as here it mixes other parts like Animism, Buddhism, Ancestor Worship and Hinduism.

The Trees of Monkey Forest Sanctuary in Bali:

The Sacred Monkey Forest has more than 115 species of trees. Some trees in the forest are religious significance and are considered holy. Pule Bandak tree, in the Monkey forest is a very holy tree. The tree is used for making masks.
