  • Ambarawa Railway Museum - Situated 50 km south of Semarang, it is home of the antique locomotives, present in a museum. Here one can see locomotives of different types and ages. One an also see antique telephones and other instruments meant for railway communication.

  • Bandungan - It is one of the most popular highland resorts in Java, situated 980 meters above sea level.

  • China Town (Glodok) - The place has many temples and clan houses. The Tay kak Sie is the most interesting among them which was built in 1771. The famous of the structure here is the Gedung batu temple.

  • Jatijajar Cave - It is about 49 km west of Kebumen and is 20 km from Gombong.

  • Jepara - it is a town in the north-east of Semarang and has white sandy beaches, and is popular for its wood carving.

  • Kudus and Demark - both have historical significance. Kudushas the Minaret Mosque, was built in the15th century while Demak has the oldest mosque in Central Java.
