Gonbad-e Moshtaghieh, Kerman

Gonbad-e Moshtaghieh in Kerman in Iran is a historical tower that stands tall towards the eastern side of Masjid-e Jame. The tower was built in the nineteenth century during the Qajar period. Gonbad-e Moshtaghieh, Kerman is also called the Seh Gonbad. It stands over three tombs- the tomb of Moshtagh Alishah, the tomb of Sheikh Esmail and the tomb of Kowsar Alishah. The interior of the tower of Gonbad-e Moshtaghieh, Kerman is exquisitely decorated with tiles. The ceiling of the tower has amazingly beautiful plaster decorations. Besides it houses lovely mural paintings. The lavishly done manbar or the pulpit is one of the greatest attractions of the Gonbad-e Moshtaghieh, Kerman. Before the Islamic Revolution this magnificent monument was restored.

Masjid-e Jame: Mosque near Gonbad-e Moshtaghieh, Kerman

The Masjid-e Jame or the Friday Mosque is one of the landmarks in the city. The mosque, built in the 14 th century, houses 4 ivans. The blue faience of the ivans is beautiful. Any non-muslim is granted entry inside the mosque. The main attractions of the Friday Mosque are the geometric designs on the wall of the mihrab; the Kuffic inscriptions dating back to 1349 AD; mosaic tilings of the ivans and much more.
