The Sadie Mausoleum, Shiraz is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Shiraz. The Sadie Mausoleum, Shiraz is named after the great poet Sheikh Sadi. The beautiful city of Shiraz is also known as the city of poets, wine and flowers, especially roses. Shiraz is also known as the city of gardens, due to the many gardens and fruit trees that can be seen in the city. The Sadie Mausoleum, Shiraz attracts large number of tourists all round the year.

The full name of Sheikh Sadi in English is Muslih-ud-Din Mushrif-ibn-Abdullah. He is one of the most renowned Persian poets of the medieval period. Sheikh Sadi was not only recognized for the quality of his writing, but also for the depth of his social thought. Sheikh Sadi a native of Shiraz in Persia left his native town at a young age for Baghdad to study Arabic literature and Islamic sciences at Al-Nizamiyya of Baghdad.

Sheikh Sadi used to sit in remote teahouses late into the night and exchanged views with merchants, farmers, preachers, wayfarers, thieves, and Sufi mendicants and from them he derived his ideas to write. His most celebrated work till date is Bostan in 1257 and Gulistan in the year 1258.

After the death of Sheikh Sadi, the place where he was buried came to be known as Sadie Mausoleum, Shiraz and undoubtedly one of the popular tourist attractions.
