Milad Tower in Milan or the Borj-e Milad is Iran's tallest tower. While it is the world's 4 tallest tower. The Milad Tower,Tehran is situated in Gisha District in Tehran. The Milad Tower soars to a height of 435 meters from the base of the tower to the tip of the antenna. It is the world's tallest freestanding structure. It was designed by Dr. Mohammad Reza.
The Milad Tower,Tehran houses a large pod which has 12 floors. The roof of the pod is at a height of 315 meters. There is a staircase below the roof. Besides there are elevators which provide access to the pod. The Milad Tower,Tehran is spread over a complex which houses 27,000 square meters of car parking space, a commercial transaction center, restaurants, IT park, 5 star hotel, computer and telecommunication unit, library, administrative unit and an exhibition hall. The base of the tower is octagonal in shape. The Milad Tower complex offers accommodation, sightseeing, communication, convention and trade under one roof. A lightning struck the Milad Tower on 13th May in 2007.
