Besides this wildlife reserve is the internationally renowned Fota Arboretum. The arboretum has a wonderful collection of trees and shrubs from all over the world.

Blarney Castle: This is a magnificent historic castle and was built sometime before 1200A.D. Some portions of it were destroyed in 1446 but were subsequently rebuilt by Dermot McCarthy, the King of Munster. At the top of the castle lies the Stone of Eloquence, also called the Blarney Stone. Tourists coming to Blarney can kiss the stone, which is said to give the gift of eloquence. You can take snaps of this "magic moment". Surrounding the castle are beautiful and quite extensive gardens. You can take a stroll around the gardens of the castle. But visitors must not miss to check out The Rock Close, The sacrificial altar, Witch’s Cave, The Fairy Glade, Blarney House and The wishing steps in the Blarney Castle Gardens.The Blarney House was built in Scottish baronial style in 1874 and was then open to the public.
