The main airport in Sligo is Sligo Airport. The airport is located at a distance of about 8 km to the west of the town in Strandhill. Aer Arann provides two flights between Dublin and Sligo and four flights from Manchester. There are regular bus services available provided by Bus Eireann from across the road with getting up and down near the Airport on request. The bus services are available seven times a day. One can also get taxi services from the airport.

Rail

There are five trains per day from Monday through Saturday and four on Sunday from the Connolly Station to the airport. The travel takes 3 hours. The rail service is served by Irish Rail.

Road

There are regular bus services from most of the towns and cities to Sligo. Bus Eireann is the bus service provider and from Dublin, there are 6 buses that run daily, Monday to Saturday and on Sunday, 3 services are available. Getting around Sligo

There are good bus services (Route 473) available from the main bus station of Sligo to Strandhill and Rosses Point. Two more city bus services (Route 478 and 291) available which go around the town as well as the surrounding places.

Most hotels have their own parking space, though parking space can be difficult to find outside. There are many car parks available around the town that are run by local authority. If you want to park in the public car park and also on the streets, one has to pay at the nearest meter office before parking. One can pay by Euro coins, credit cards or through mobile phones. One can pay in advance, if parking outside the normal working hours. A not of caution though.
