Lismore Castle Gardens: This is a lovely garden located within the Lismore Castle. The word Lismore means 'great fort' in Irish. The castle was built in 1185 by Prince John and later renovated by the first Earl of Cork, Richard Boyle. The garden can be categorized into upper and lower section and are linked by the staircase to the Riding House built in 1631. As you visit the lower garden you can see fine collection of shrubs such as magnolias and camellias. Besides this the garden also features an ancient yew walk.
Peoples Park: The beautiful Peoples Park covers an area of 16.3 acres and was laid out over 100 years ago. This is located close to the City centre. If you are visiting the Park in summer you can see some live band performances in the bandstand of the park.
Barony of Gaultier: This is one of the major places of interest in Waterford. Tourists coming here will simply be charmed by its rolling hills and craggy cliffs. You can also enjoy cycling along its country roads and coarse fishing in Bell Lake. Besides these you can experience sailing and boating in the Suir estuary. Barony also features a number of restaurants where you can taste a variety of fish dishes.
Waterford Harbor: This is a very ancient harbor and it is believed that it came into existence before 1194B.C. Its ancient name was 'Cuan na Greine' which means "The Harbour of the Sun".
Life-Boat Station: A life-boat was first placed at Ardmore in 1857 but the present boat-house was built in 1876. This was opened to the public in 1878. The boat was pulled by six pairs of oars and was involved in a number of rescues.
