Aqueduct, Caesarea

The Aqueduct is presently half covered with sand. History has it that the Aqueduct served to transport water from a spring that was located 6 kilometers away from the city of Caesarea. The remains of two conduits can be seen presently.

Roman Theater, Caesarea
The Roman Theater is situated towards the south of the Crusader City in the lovely city of Caesarea. It is situated near the Herodian South Wall. You will find many pieces of sculptors and a stone which bears an inscription of the name of the procurator named Pontius Pilate at the entrance to this site. The tourists can catch a view of the remains of a stage. The theater has undergone restoration recently. The tourists will also get a view of the sea from the semicircular orchestra region of the theater. Here it will be hard to overlook an arena-like region in the theater site. It is believed gladiators fought here in this arena.

Crusader City, Caesarea
The Crusader City is located outside Caesarea. In ancient days the city used to be protected by walls and bastions. It was also surrounded a moat. It was built by Louis ninth. The attractions of the Crusader City are the remains of houses built in the 13th century, marble spouts and cisterns used by the people of that period, remains of drainage system, remains of the water supply during that period, Crusader cathedral and the Herodian Temple of Augustus. The site houses restaurants and many souvenir shops.
