Jericho is a lovely town situated on the West Bank. The town lies close to the Jordan River. The population of the town consists of Palestinians. The town is also near the northern part of the Dead Sea. It is situated at a distance of 55 kilometers from the city of Jerusalem. The town houses the Tell-es-Sultan, the ancient mound which consists of the remains of the city that was built 9000 years ago.

Beit Guvrin National Park, Jericho
It is a national park that houses archaeological sites that date back 2000 years. The park spreads over an area of 1,250 acres. It is tucked on the Judean Plain surrounded by 400 meters high hills. It is the land of 1000 caves. Some of the attractions found here are the Bell Caves, the ruins of the Saint Anne's Church, Sidonian burial caves and the Tel Maresha.

Hisham's Palace, Jericho
Hisham's Palace is situated towards the north of the spectacular Elisha's Spring in the town of Jericho. The palace was built by the tenth Omayyad Caliph named Hisham in the year 724. In 746 the the region was hit by an earthquake and the palace got destroyed. In course of time the structure got covered with sand. The existence of the palace was forgotten until the British archaeologists discovered the remains of the palace site measuring 160 meters by 130 meters in 1937. The Palace complex consists of 4 buildings, inner courtyard, bathhouses, square pool and mosque.

Mount of Temptation, Jericho
It is a hill situated towards the northwestern part of old Jericho. On the top of the hill you will find the remains of the chapel called the St Chariton which was built in 340. The Sarandarion monastery is also located on this hill. It was built by the Greeks in 1895.
