The church of Condemnation and the church of flagellation share the same courtyard. These two churches are positioned face to face on two sides of the same courtyard. The Church of Condemnation and Flagellation, Jerusalem symbolizes the second station of the Cross on the Via Dolorosa. The church of Flagellation is situated on the right side of the courtyard. This beautiful piece of architecture was restored by the Bar luzzi in the year 1927-28. The travelers visiting this wonderful chapel are astonished with the beauty of the building. The surroundings of the chapel has a serene environment and creates a religious fervor within the travelers visiting the site.

The Church of condemnation is located just opposite to the Church of Flagellation. This building is smaller than the other chapel. Its because of their proximity to each other the site is known as the Church of Condemnation and Flagellation in Jerusalem. The church of condemnation measures about 32 square feet. A part of this chapel is the Lithostrotos which means a Roman pavement that stretches to the Sisters of Sion Convent. This monastery is very important as it houses an archaeological museum and the Studium Biblicum Franciscanum. Every Sunday masses are held at the Church of Condemnation and Flagellation, Jerusalem twice in the morning. On week days the travelers can attend masses in the evenings from 6:30 pm onwards at the Church of Condemnation and Flagellation, Jerusalem.
