During your travel to Hiroshima, do consider to take a trip to Hiroshima Peace Memorial (Genbaku Dome) without a miss. The famous Hiroshima Peace Memorial (Genbaku Dome) is usually recognized as the A-Bomb Dome or Atomic Bomb Dome. This is a World Heritage Site of UNESCO, which is situated in Hiroshima, Japan. Of all the tourist attractions in Hiroshima, this beautiful historical site of history is visited by all the sightseers coming from all over the world.

The most famous Japanese city, Hiroshima is the capital of Hiroshima Prefecture. It is also considered to be the largest city in the Chugoku region of western Honshu and the largest of Japan's islands. This is the first city in history subjugated to nuclear fighting with the atomic bombings during World War II.

Hiroshima Peace Memorial (Genbaku Dome) was built in the year 1996, which is set in a part of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. The edifice of this memorial was initially decorated by the famous Czech architect Jan Letzel. It was finished in the year 1915 and the new building got its name from Hiroshima Prefectural Commercial Exhibition. It was initially opened to the public in the month of August. However, the name was converted to the Hiroshima Prefectural Products Exhibition Hall in 1921. In 1933, it got its name as Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall.

On 6 August 1945, the nuclear blast was directly upon the building and it was the adjoining structure to survive after the explosion. The building has been conserved and today it serves as the example of nuclear destruction. It exhibits a symbol of hope for world peace and abolition of all nuclear weapons.

The Hiroshima Peace Memorial (Genbaku Dome) is regarded as the only building left positioned in the region. With the efforts of people including those of the city of Hiroshima, this historical piece has become a major tourist attraction.
