National Parks of Kenya

Aberdare National Park

Covering the higher areas of the Aberdare Range of central Kenya and the Aberdare Salient to their east, the park is located 180 kilometers from Nairobi. Established in May 1950, the national park covers an area of 767 square kilometers and features a wide variety of wildlife like the lion, leopard, baboon, black and white Colobus monkey and sykes monkey.

Kora National Park

Located in Coast Province and covering an area of 1,787 square kilometers, the park features a wide variety of animal species like caracal, cheetah, elephant, genet, hippopotamus, spotted and striped hyenas, leopard, lion, wildcat and several types of antelope.

Lake Nakuru National Park

Lying to the south of Nakuru in central Kenya, it is one of the Rift Valley soda lakes. It is well-known for millions of flamingos nesting along the shores.


Marsabit National Park

Located 560 kilometers north of Nairobi in Marsabit District in Eastern Province, the reserve is notable for its zebra population and bird sanctuary.

Nairobi National Park

Located approximately 7 kilometers south of the center of Nairobi, the park features lions, cheetahs and rhinos along with more than 400 species of birds.
