Spread across a total area of 142020 ha, this national park has the districts of Meru, Nyeri, Kirnyaga and Embu in Eastern and Central Provinces as its core zone. Rising at a height of 5,199 meters, Mount Kenya is the second highest peak in Africa. An ancient extinct volcano, it has its active period millions of years ago.
