Today, Mombasa is a city well known for its great diversity and life styles. All types of people are welcomed and integrated with the populace. Mosques, Hindu temples and Christian churches can be found in streets of the city of Mombasa. Mombasa is served by the Moi International Airport. The city also has a railway station with trains operated by the Kenya Railways. Overnight, passenger trains from Mombasa to Nairobi can be availed here.

In Mombasa, the common mode of transport is the Matatus or mini-buses. It moves between the villages and the Mombasa Island. These buses ply all over the city and are always packed with people. However all of them are licensed and have stickers on the windshields.

The city of Mombasa also has several restaurants were one can taste the local food. The bars and clubs of the city keep the nightlife in the city going. The several market places in and around the city always ensure that you have plenty to buy for your loved one.
