Population
Liberia has a total population of 3.57 million according to the census of 2006. it is composed of 16 ethnic groups of which Kpelle with 20% is the most dominating. Other important groups include Bass 16%, Gio 8%, Kru 7% and the remaining groups form a total of 49% of the population. While 40% of the Liberians are Christians, only 20% follow Islam. The remaining 40% are animists. The Liberians mostly speak English which is the official language of the Republic of Liberia.
