Climate of Libya:
Libya has hot and arid climate. The summers are hot with very high temperatures. Al-'Aziziyah records the maximum summer temperature of 58° C. Droughts are quite common in Libya, during summers. The presence of the Sahara desert in the south accounts for a number of dry arid winds. Ghibli is the dominant wind, blowing from west. It is a dusty wind and relative humidity can reduces visibility up to 60 feet. Rainfall is very low. The annual precipitation is less than 10 inches. Some places in Libya have seen as many as 200 consecutive rainless days.
Flora and Fauna of Libya:
Libya has a few volcanic craters. The plains to the north of Uweinat contain a number of volcanic features. Recent research has detected rich oil and petroleum deposits in the volcanic craters of Sahara desert. Arkenu crater is mention worthy in this regard.
