Cuisine in Mexico is mainly based upon pre-Hispanic tradition which is mainly followed in Latin America. The specialty of the Cuisine in Mexico is the variety of flavors and spices used in it. Mexican cuisine is enriched with hot spices, variety of ingredients and nice decoration. The rich and spicy dishes introduced by Mexican cuisine are recommended to all the people who like little hot and rich food.

Before arrival of the Europeans, Mexico was inhabited by the Maya, Aztec and Zapotec civilizations. These people generally developed agriculture for their livelihood and cultivated staples like, corn, peppers, avocado, tomato, sweet potato, beans, jicama and squashes. Food in Mexico varies from region to region due to varying climate, geography and ethnic differences among the citizens. Several kinds of soups, sauces and stews are common to the Mexican people in their daily food habit. Wide variety of food varies from light soups and stews to rich, spicy, quick-fry and roasted items.

Puebala is a state in Mexico where you can find dishes prepared with herbs, spices and chocolate. Yucatan is another state which is famous for its rich variety of sauces based on fruit and seasoned with oranges, pepper, garlic and cumin.
