The Island of Ixtapa in Mexico is accessible by small boats, popularly called pangas that currently ferry passengers between it and the pier at Playa Quieta in Ixtapa. You can alos hire boats from the Zihuatanejo Municipal pier to reach the Island of Ixtapa.

Cuachalalate:
The famous Cuachalalate beach is the first stop on the exotic Ixtapa Island.
Looking across the water from the boat pier is a great thing to do here. The beach is lined with palapa roofed restaurants, 3 Sirenas or 3 Mermaids, Cabana Del Buzo or Divers Cabin, Bar Ixtapa and Playa Nachos. Banana boats leave regularly from the beach by the pier for a joyous ride around Ixtapa Island. Jet skis and wave runners are available for wild rides in the Pacific Ocean. Snorkeling is popular on all the beaches of the Island of Ixtapa of Mexico
Varadero:
"Varadero" means boatyard so the island was probably used to repair boats at some time in the past. Besides restaurants El Marlin, Miramar, El Indio, and Paraiso Escondido, serving seafood and cold drinks, there are masseuses to relax you. Kids are seen cooling themselves in the water along the shore. One of the lighthouses on the island warns ships of the surrounding rocks. Water sports abound this beach, including parasailing, banana boats, snorkeling, jet skis aqua-cycles and pedal boats.
Coral:
One of the top-class Island of Ixtapa, Coral is visited by tourists for its finest restaurants, shallow coral reefs teeming with tropical fish and snorkeling and relaxing along the blue crystal-clear waters of the beach.
Carey, or Sacrificio:
The brilliant colors fade in the dry season in the Carey. From the high point of the path you can look down upon the palapa shelter which serves as a good resting place. You can enjoy marvelous views of Playa Quieta and Playa Linda, 2 of Ixtapa's lovely beaches.
