Highlights of 2007

Unlike the other years 2007 has seen some changes in the Monaco Grand Prix. The race in 2007 is the only Formula One event held in the centre of a town and differs in several ways from other Grand Prix. The highlights are:

  • The practice session for the race is held on the Thursday preceding the race instead of Friday. This allows the streets to be opened to the public again on the Friday.
  • Due to the convenience of the television viewers the race this year has begun from 5 p.m sharp instead of 3.30 p.m. This time change has made the race all the more popular as it falls in line with the other Formula One races.
  • Compared to the previous years, this year the numbers of cars admitted to the Grand Prix has also increased.
