The Exotic Garden, Moneghetti is a rock face garden housing exquisite species of subtropical flora variety. It was inaugarated in the year 1933. The Exotic Garden, Moneghetti exhibits various kinds of cactus from Africa and South America. There are aloe varieties from Cape Town and giant agaves from the Aztec region. There are 7000 varieties of such exotic plants in the garden.
The Exotic Garden is located above the Fontvielle Port. Apart from the range of the succulent plant kingdom, there are also selected plant species from throughout the world. This landscaped garden overlooks the Principality and the beautiful backdrop of the Mediterranean Sea therefore giving the Exotic garden a magical appeal. These make it one of the finest tourist attractions in Moneghetti to be visited during the Moneghetti Tour.
The fantastic climate of this place is extremely favorable for the growth of the various plants in the garden including the 1500 species of succulent varieties. The Mediterranean climate, the sloping cliff on which the garden is situated has helped the garden to flourish to such a great extent.
The sloping terrain of the place facilitates downwards orientation of the rain water and results in good drainge avoiding water clogging at the base of the plants. The terrain also helps in offering the best angle of sun rays. Above all, the geographical location sheltered by the mountains of Tete de Chien and Mont Agel is absolutely perfect to protect the 7000 varieties from all necessary hazards.
The Exotic Garden is popular destination for sightseeing in Moneghetti and apart from taking rounds of the garden, observing its beauty the tourist can also take strolls along the foot bridge, located high above the cliff. Within the Exotic Garden, there are prehistoric caves about 60 meters underground. This caves are known as Observatory caves. There you will find amazing stalagmites, stalactites and limestone incrustations.

The pass includes the entry to the exotic garden, the Observatry Caves and Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology. The Garden opens daily from 9:00 AM -6:00 PM. It remains closed only on November 19 and December 25.
