Mtambwe Mkuu is located on a small island towards the south of Wete. It is joined to Pemba only during low tide. Here you will get to see the pre-colonial silver minted coins. The place can be easily is reached by dhow or canoe from the Wete harbor.

The Pujini Ruins lies at about 10 kilometers southeast of Chake. This was originally a fortified palace dating back to the 15th century. This was in fact the seat of the notorious Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman who reigned Pemba during this time. This is before the advent of the Portuguese. Here you will get to see the palace ruins and this covers a large area. There are also the defensive ramparts and the surrounding ditches that you can see even today. Within the fort you find the remnants of 3 large buildings along with an underground shrine with plaster bas reliefs on the walls.

Ngezi Forest is located in the Ngezi Peninsula is the northernmost point in Pemba. This forested area is the last remains of a massive tract of indigenous forest that used to cover most of Pemba. In the Ngezi forest you will find the Pemba Flying Fox, a bat that is endemic to the island. It is a protected area and here you will also find an information centre and a nature trail. You will also get to see the Vumawimbi Beach which is an immaculate beach with miles of white sand that is flanked by an equally pristine forest. Do not miss the Verani Beach with the 'Pango ya Watoro' or 'the cave of the fugitives' at the northern end.

There are the Ras Mkumbuu Ruins where you will find a Swahili settlement that dates back to the 11th century. There are the remains of a large mosque and the large number of 'pillar tombs'. You can reach the ruins by hired boat, or an organized tour. This is a very important place in the Pemba sightseeing tours.
