Festivals and Events in Nepal play an important role in Nepalese culture. There are a lot of Festivals and Events in Nepal that are enjoyed and celebrated by the local people in the country.

Nepal is a nation in South Asia that is surrounded by land. The country borders the People's Republic of China to the north and India to the south. Nepal was earlier known as the world's only Hindu state with over eighty percent of the people following this faith. However on 18 May 2006, Nepal was declared a secular state.

This is one of the broadly celebrated festivals that falls on the first month that is Baisakh. It is in the month of April or May, of the Nepali Year. The Festivals and Events in Nepal also includes Fagun Purnima. It is Holi that is celebrated in Nepal with a lot of color and vibrancy. Supposedly named after the mythical demoness Holika, it is a day when the people of Nepal celebrate it by splashing colors on each other. The festival is celebrated throughout a week. It is only the last day that is observed by all with colours in this festival.

The Teej Ko Darkhane Din is one of the major Festivals and Events in Nepal. Teej is the fasting festival for the women in Nepal. Through this religious fasting, Hindu women pray for marital happiness, health of their spouse and children and purification of their own body and soul. It takes place on Tritiya of Bhadra that is in the month of August or September.

Shree Ram Nawami is also celebrated in Nepal. Ram Nawami is celebrated in the middle of Chaitra that is in the month of March to April as Lord Ram's Birthday. It is celebrated with much splendor at Janaki temple in Janakpur city which is situated in the southern part of Nepal.
