This was the royal residence of the Nepalese till the 19th century. Important ceremonies were held at this place and the tradition continues till now as well. The entire structure of the palace is very beautifully decorated with wood that is elaborately carved. There are decorative panels and windows as well. The Kumari Chowk, a popular site is in the southern edge of the Durbar Square in Kathmandu. This is considered to be one of the most curious and mysterious attractions of Nepal.
