Wildlife in Nepal

The Lesser Rapti Valley in Nepal is home to the famous Indian Rhinoceros.

Some of the wildlife in Nepal which are found in the higher altitudes are barking deer popularly known as muntiacs, musk deer, a type of beardless wild goat called tahr, rocky mountain goat or goral and wild sheep. The high mountains in Nepal also have wolves or snow leopards. Some popular bird species in the country are the mountain eagle and hawks.

The wildlife reserves are popular points of sightseeing in Nepal. Numerous trips are arranged to these reserves. The forests are also popularly centers of excursions in Nepal. Adventure lovers and nature enthusiasts undertake trekking expeditions to these places. The stunning beauty of these forests makes them very popular to tourists which have been a fillip to eco tourism in the country.
