Pokhara, the most frequently visited city at the heart of Nepal, is situated just 198 kilometers west of Katmandu. Pokhara has a lake named Phewa Lake. It is very attractive in its stretch and beauty. The main attraction in this lake was the pagoda style temple that holds the memorial of Barahi, the Water Goddess. Tourists can also spoil themselves in some attractive activities such as fishing and canoeing. Several species of fish can be found in the lake. Some other attractions in Pokhara include Begnas Lake, Gupteshwar Cave, Davis Fall and Mahendra Cave.
Pokhara is also a shopper’s paradise. The contemporary business city centre at Chiple Dhunga and Mahendrapul remain crammed with tourists all throughout the year. Other than the city center, you will also get some sub centers at the north in Bagar and in the south of Prithvi Chok and Srijana Chok. At the eastern part, there is also a Ram Bazaar that is ideal for shopping.
