Langestraat, Alkmaar is the main street in the old city of Alkmaar which emerges from Sint Laurenskerk and terminates towards the southern part of Waagplein in the city. The street houses many historic buildings and century old houses like the Town Hall or the Stadhuis, Moriaanshoofd and Huize Egmont. The Town Hall was built between 1509-1520. The hall contains 2 monochrome allegorical paintings done by Romeyn de Hooghe. The Moriaanshoofd is a patrician house built in 1748. It houses a hall done with Italian marble.
