The Regent Theatre, Dunedin was bought by the Otago Theatre Trust in 1973, now owned by the Dunedin City Council. It is the only large live theatre venue in the Otago region, screening great international Broadway hit shows like Cats and the Les Miserables. The Regent Theatre is one of the grand backdrop to the Royal New Zealand Ballet and the International Film Festival.
