Named after Sileni, who is a well known character in the Roman mythology along with Bacchus who is considered as the god of wine, Sileni Estates, Hastings is the oldest founded winery of New Zealand. It is one of the major vineyards and the winery development areas of the Hawke's Bay. The first wine production of this winery took place in the year 1998.
