The wines of Stonecroft, Hastings are ready for sale and consumption in the month of February, every year. It is then sent to the different restaurants and bars, retailers and the wine shops of the country for consumption by the public. Distribution of wine is done solely by Eurowine. The wines are transported nationwide by the winery's mail order system.
The first vineyard site was purchased by the Stonecroft, Hastings with the aim of producing excellent quality fruits required for the production of wines of very high standards. The grapes are procured from the Mere Road Vineyard and Tokarahi Vineyard at Roy's Hill. The vineyards are located in the best sites of viticulture in Hawke's Bay which is at present known as the Gimblett Gravels. The site of the vineyards are very stone free and is the perfect draining soil.
In the year 1989, Stonecroft, Hastings the first Syran, the first of its kind in New Zealand.'Their next produce was the New Zealand's first Zifandel.
Stonecroft, Hastings follows the traditional procedure of producing wine and quality of the wine produced is their prime concern. Staring from their first venture in the year 1987, the company has striven utmost towards producing “ Full bodied, elegant and fruit driven wines” which is the motto of the company.
Extending over an area of 8 hectares, the wine varietals produced in Stonecroft, Hastings comprise Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Chardonnay, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel. The red wine, white wine and the rose wine produced in this winery is famous all over the world. There are provisions for on site sales.
