Abuja International Airport is the only airport in Abuja. The airport has an international as well as a local terminal. Presently, it is under going serious upgrades in order to make it ready to host a mega event like the Commonwealth games. Abuja also has a running and efficient BRT and a green cab system.

The Nigerian Railway Corporation or NRC was first set up in the year 1955. Construction is underway for an LRT system for the city under the aegis of NRC. It is now being managed and revamped by the Ministry of Transportation of Nigeria. It has made the project a prestigious issue and has begun to given it top priority.
