The Christian association of Nigeria took initiative and ensured a fast completion of the project, which started years back. Finally, the church was open to public on October 2nd in the year 2005. This day is, coincidentally, marked the 45th independence day celebration of the country. This grand church was opened to public and the dedication service was presided by the then Reverend Peter Akinola. He was the head of the Anglican Primate of Nigeria.
The striking church building of the church represents the neo gothic style of work. Visitors can see the pivotal arches leading to the altar. The altar is placed in the central point in the church and devotee can complete a rotation in just 10 minutes. The right wing of the church has a pipe organ, from where the church choir sings during the mass services. The windows have colorful stained galls windows in red, green and yellow.
