History
The ancient city came into existence when Lagelu, the Jagun (commander-in-chief) of Ife and Yoruba's generalissimo, left Ile Ife with a handful of his people to found his own city, Eba Odan. It literally means 'between the forest and plains'.
Getting to Ibadan
The city is served by Ibadan Airport and by the Ibadan Railway Station on the main railway line from Lagos to Kano. Tourists will find various modes of transportation such as taxis, taxi-vans commonly called danfos, private cars, personal family cars, scooters. Most of the flights coming into Nigeria would either be stopping at Lagos, Abuja or both cities. Getting to Ibadan from Lagos is convenient and comfortable.
