Lillehammer is a rustic town which is beautifully nestled in the county of Oppland in South-Central Norway. Located on the shores of Lake Mjosa Lillehammer is visited by large flocks of domestic and international tourists. Aulestad, Lillehammer was the dwelling place for the Nobel-prize winning author Bjornstjerne Bjornson and also for his wife Karolin. Bjornstjerne Bjornson was awarded the noble prize in the year 1903.After the death of Karolin Aulestad, Lillehammer was transformed into a museum.

History of Aulestad, Lillehammer:

In the year of 1875, Bjornstjerne Bjornson moved to Aulestad. Aulestad, Lillehammer contributed o the literature, political and cultural life of Norway.

Bjornstjerne Bjornson wrote historical pieces, novels, stories and approx more than 400 poems. Moreover, Bjornstjerne Bjornson also wrote more than 60,000 speeches and about 30,000 articles.

After Karolin died in the year 1934 Aulestad, Lillehammer became the protery of the Norwegian government. Later on the government turned the Aulestad, Lillehammer into a museum. Nowadays, Aulestad in Lillehammer open as a museum only during the summer season.

There is a museum shop at the Aulestad, Lillehammer from where you can purchase some travel memories as well as book. Taking a stroll in the Aulestad, Lillehammer is also great.

The Aulestad, Lillehammer remains open for the visitors from 18th to 31st may from 11.00 to 16.00 pm

The Aulestad, Lillehammer remains open for the visitors from 1st June to 31st august from 10.00 to 17.00 pm

The Aulestad, Lillehammer remains open for the visitors from 1st September to 30th September.
