The Akershus Slott, Oslo is an old castle which was built as a protection for Oslo. The work of building Akershus Slott, Oslo started in late 1290s by Hakon V after replacing Tonsberg. The construction was necessitated after the attack on Oslo by Earl Alv Erlingsson of Sarpsborg.
